Re: 15th August MeetUp - Updated

I agree Charles. You can handle some of the overview stuff in the introduction.

We should urge as many people as possible to register/RSVP before the event to give us an idea of numbers

George.

15th August MeetUp -

Thanks George - I'm thinking that maybe I should incorporate the Overview section:

 Overview:
   * What is Drupal?
   * Who uses it?
   * What features does it offer?

into my welcome/intro? If I've got 15 minutes for a welcome, this would help me with something to talk about. I'll probably spend 5 minutes on the welcome and talking about the group, and then could use 10 minutes to go through the overview.

What do you think?

I'd like to send out an invite by the end of today, even if we haven't finalised the showcases yet - we need to start advertising this to insure we get good newbie attendance. We'll need to leverage all our networks, and punt this to as many people as possible.

Because we have a big venue, we might even want to approach universities and placement agencies (they can tell the web guys on their books) as mentioned at the last meetup. The key is to get people who are new to Drupal.
